For a local contact identity, consider a supported 01/02 number; for a nationwide business, consider a suitable 03 number. Decide whether you want calls forwarded to an existing UK mobile, delivered to a SIP trunk or handled by hosted VoIP.

The number selected and its call-delivery method affect whether you need extra equipment or pay forwarding or call-usage charges.

• Ask whether forwarding to a mobile creates a separate outgoing call charge.
